The short version
We collect what the app needs to work and nothing we don't. We do not sell your data to third-party cosmetic manufacturers, advertisers or data brokers. Your scans, skin profile and progress photos are yours. You can delete all of it at any time.
This policy explains what Lumiere ("we", "us") collects when you use the Lumiere: AI Skincare Scanner iPhone app and this website, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.
1. Who we are
Lumiere is operated by Knyaz Harutyunyan. For any privacy question or request, contact support@lumiere-skin-care.com.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Skin profile. Skin type, concerns, sensitivities and preferences you enter during onboarding. This is what makes personalised match scores possible.
- Products and shelf data. Products you scan, search or add, and the opening dates you log.
- Routines and reminders. The steps you build and the times you set.
- Journal entries. Progress photos, notes and daily ratings you choose to record.
- Messages to the AI assistant. The questions you ask in the in-app chat.
- Support correspondence. Anything you send us by email.
Information collected automatically
- Scan images. When you scan a label, the image is processed to extract the ingredient text. Images are used to produce your analysis and are not used to identify you.
- Device and diagnostic data. Device model, OS version, app version, crash reports and basic usage events, used to fix bugs and understand which features are used.
- Subscription status. Whether you hold an active subscription, provided to us by Apple and our subscription-management provider.
What we never collect
- Payment details. All purchases run through Apple's App Store. We never see your card number or billing address.
- Your contacts, location or unrelated photos. Lumiere requests camera access to scan labels and photo access only for images you explicitly add to your journal.
3. Why we use it

4. Service providers
We use a small number of third-party providers to run the app. They process data only on our instructions and only for the purposes above:
- Cloud hosting and backend services — storing your account data and app content.
- AI model providers — processing ingredient text and chat messages to generate an analysis or answer.
- Subscription management — verifying whether your subscription is active.
- Crash reporting and analytics — diagnosing problems and measuring feature usage.
- Apple — App Store distribution and payment processing.
If you'd like the current list of named providers, email us and we'll send it.
5. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not share your scans, skin profile or journal with cosmetic brands or manufacturers.
- We do not use your progress photos for advertising or marketing.
- We do not run third-party advertising networks inside the app.
6. How long we keep it
Your account data is kept while your account is active. Delete your account and we remove your personal data from active systems, with residual copies clearing from backups on our normal backup rotation. Anonymised, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you may be retained.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, and the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, export, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Exercise any of these by deleting your account in the app's settings, or by emailing support@lumiere-skin-care.com. We'll respond within the period the applicable law requires.
8. Children
Lumiere is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take this seriously and will notify affected users and regulators where the law requires it.
10. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. This website
This site is a static marketing site. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. The free tools on this site run entirely in your browser — anything you type into the expiry calculator or conflict checker is never transmitted to us. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of serving the font files.
12. Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Material changes will also be surfaced in the app.
13. Contact
Questions, requests or complaints: support@lumiere-skin-care.com. If you're in the EEA or UK and unhappy with our response, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
